Sonya Ward, beloved wife of Ron Ward, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024 after a long, courageous battle with Cancer. Born on October 12, 1946, in Markdale, Ontario, Sonya was the cherished daughter of Ted and Sylvia Weber (Clarence MacAulay).
Growing up in Beaver Valley, Sonya attended Kimberley Public School and Flesherton High School before pursuing her passion for psychology at York University. In 1967, she married her soulmate Ron, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love and laughter.
Sonya was a dedicated mother to her daughters, Erin Ward and Bronwyn Ward (David Galica), and a doting grandmother to Breckin and Parker. Together with Ron, she built a successful Title Searching business while still finding time to indulge in her passions.
An avid hiker, Sonya found solace and joy along the Bruce Trail, where she spent countless hours exploring nature's wonders with her friends and family. She was also an active member of her local book clubs, where she fostered lifelong friendships over discussions of literature. Sonya's adventurous spirit led her and Ron to travel the world, creating cherished memories along the way.
Sonya's kind heart, unwavering strength, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
