The Town of The Blue Mountains has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) to complete a Wastewater Master Plan. This study is being conducted according to the requirements of Phases 1 and 2 of the MCEA process which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act. This Master Plan is being completed as an Approach 2 Master Plan with sufficient detail to fulfill the requirements for Schedule ‘B’ projects (e.g., new or upgraded sewage pumping stations, forcemains, etc.).
A Public Information Centre (PIC) has been scheduled regarding the project. This PIC is being held to gather initial input on the project from stakeholders and residents. The meeting will include a public comment and question period. All those interested in the project are invited to attend. Pre-registration is required.

About the Town-Wide Wastewater Master Plan
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the Town’s long-term wastewater treatment and collection system needs and identify a preferred solution to be implemented to improve the system to accommodate the Town’s growth. This process will help to identify system requirements and assist with long-term capital planning. Public and agency consultation is a key element of the process and input will be sought throughout the study to inform the evaluation and selection of the preferred wastewater servicing strategy.
