Below are five area events among the many happening this weekend:

Buckland Cup party with the Blues

Blues players will be on hand on Saturday, May 4, to meet fans and sign autographs starting at 1 p.m. until about 3 p.m. in the parkette across the street from Eddie Bush Arena (84 Hurontario Street). The Blues have again won the Ontario Junior Hockey League championships – The Buckland Cup– and are getting ready for another crack at the Centennial Cup, which is the National Junior A Championships. Stop by to give the players your support before the national games, which start May 9 in Oakville. 

Mother of All Yard Sales 

The Mother of All Yard Sales takes place May 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with thousands of donated items priced to sell, and an expected 1,000 people hunting for deals. Hosted by the Collingwood Optimist Club for more than three decades, the event occupies the Collingwood Curling Club, wall-to-wall. There's a $2 entry fee, and usually a long line first thing in the morning. 

ChoralWorks Classical Spring Concert

On Saturday, May 4 at 7 p.m., the local classical choir ChoralWorks will be performing A Spring Symphony at First Presbyterian Church in Collingwood. Directed by Brian Rae, the performance will feature trained singers including Mezzo-soprano soloist Maria Soulis, a professional orchestra and concert pianist Joshua Tamayo. Sunset Manor Artisan Market

Running Saturday, May from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sunset Manor Auditorium (indoors) at 49 Raglan St., the market includes gifts, crafts and more from area vendors. More online at the County of Simcoe website here.

Meraki Mother's Day Artisan Market

A market filled with handcrafted treasures, delightful treats and unique finds -- including great gifts for your mom this Mother's Day. There will be live music and many vendors at the May 4 market, which runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Nottawa Memorial Community Centre (Nottawa Hall, 4129 County Road 124).
