The Town of Collingwood posted an update to its website noting the outdoor rink at Central Park is not ready yet, but a 2020/21 season schedule is on the way.

In keeping with the current town policy, the town is reserving the right to request proof of primary residence before allowing someone to use the outdoor rink.

The town has limited recreation facility access to "permanent residents of the Simcoe-Muskoka Region" or anyone from a community currently in the orange, yellow, or green zone under the province's COVID-19 Response Framework.

Simcoe-Muskoka, including Collingwood, is designated as a red zone under the colour-coded framework.

Once the outdoor rink opens, the town will be restricting use as per the red zone rules including:

  • A maximum of 25 people on the ice at a time
  • Admittance is based on first-come, first-served basis
  • Self-screening required before arrival via the province's online screening tool
  • Contact information must be provided before entering the ice surface
  • Pleasure skating only (no shinny/scrimmage) and individuals must maintain a three-metre distance
