Increased police presence expected this weekend in Wasaga Beach

Officers will be looking out for illegal and aggressive driving behaviours among other things

TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH - The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising the public to expect an increased police presence in Wasaga Beach this weekend as officers monitor unlawful driving behaviours and vehicles with illegal modifications.

Dangerous and aggressive driving behaviours, such as speeding, racing and stunt driving, can result in charges. Drivers and members of the public are reminded to respect our communities, comply with all laws and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighbourhoods with risky, illegal and dangerous actions.

The safety of the public and our officers is the OPP's number one priority. Anyone who chooses to participate in illegal activity may be charged and their vehicle may be towed. As a result of ongoing investigative efforts, those responsible may be charged after the fact.
