Wyatt
Hi there, I'm Wyatt. Pretty handsome, Shepherdy-lookin dude, eh? I'm five years old and a bit on the small side right now at only about 75lbs. I definitely need to gain some weight!
I just have the sweetest face and eyes that make you melt as soon as you look at me. Not to brag, but I have women just gushing over me left, right and centre in this place haha
Let's see...what else - Well, besides being handsome as heck, I'm a very clever boy too. I love learning (I already know so many commands and tricks), I love being mentally stimulated and LOVE structure! I thrive from structure!
I am a working dog after all. I like knowing what is expected of me, and will work very hard to please my humans, especially when I get happy verbal praise, treats, and pets as my positive rewards. So, let's work together and become an awesome team and best buds forever.
The GTHS humans say that I can be "anxious" at time though and when I'm anxious, I get pretty vocal. So, I think its best that I not live in a condo or apartment. I sure don't want any neighbours hating me for being too noisy sometimes.
Besides that though, I am a VERY friendly boy and love nothing more than meeting new people... especially when those people offer me pets and treats hehe
I will tell you though, I get a little tooooo interested in fast, fuzzy critters when they're around, so a home with no cats for me please!
The GTHS humans also say that I enjoy my toys a little too much as well. Not in a mean way, honest, I just love them so much that sometimes I have a hard time giving them up or sharing. So, maybe its best that I'm just your one and only pet and perhaps a home with no small kids, please (16+ sounds great).
I know, I know... this kind of sounds like a lot to ask but if you have a grown up only home and can give a smart, working boy like me the continued training, stimulation and structure I need, then I promise, you will never find a better companion and sidekick than me!
Now, last but not least, I guess you're wondering why I'm in the Special Paws Program. Well, I think the easiest answer is that I have a very, VERY sensitive tummy and this is something I've been dealing with for a little while now. It got pretty bad at one point and I had the, um, runs (sorry, yucky, I know) so often that I ended up losing a fair bit of weight and my skin and coat started to look not so great too.
After some visits with the GTHS and a lot of what the humans call "brainstorming" they think they've finally got me on a food that is going to have me feeling better long term!
So, what this means is that my humans have to be VERY strict about what I get fed and this is likely a type of food that I will have to be on for my rest of my life. Maybe some medication sometimes too but my diet will be most important!
My Special Paws adoption fee is only $100 and includes my neuter, up to date vaccinations, de-wormer, microchip AND some of my specific food to take home to get me started too.
I just know my special someone is out there and I can't wait to meet them soon!
Wags,
xoxo Wyatt
