The Vipers (14-1), who were here two years ago and lost to DeSoto, mostly rolled through the first four round of the playoffs, then defeated Houston Summer Creek 34-31 in last week's state semifinals to get here. Southlake Carroll (15-0), which is coached by Riley Dodge, the son of Todd Dodge, had an impressive playoff run through Region I. After blowing out Mansfield Legacy, the Dragons defeated four straight strong squads in Wolfforth Frenship, Lewisville Hebron, Denton Guyer and Longview.
