Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory and Customer Affairs, the Regulatory Financial Analyst will provide analytical and account support to the regulatory obligations and business activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) and other regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain an understanding of all regulatory authorities related to Legislation, Rules, Licenses and Codes and act as the subject matter expert within the company in specific areas.
• Interprets and provides feedback on regulatory decisions, amendments to existing code and new regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of OEB regulatory filings, analyses and other information required by regulatory authorities.
• Assist in the development, monitoring and enhancement of internal processes required to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Submission and reconciliation of the monthly Regulated Price Plan Settlement and rebates with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).
• Monitor regulatory variance and deferral accounts for outstanding balances, billing anomalies, regulatory adjustments, and interest calculations to ensure compliance.
• Monitor monthly distribution revenue and perform variance analysis against the budget.
• Audit the rates setup in the CIS and audit customer bills to ensure accuracy.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• Professional Accounting designation preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years in an accounting, auditing, and financial analysis role.
• Knowledge of IESO and OEB Rules, Codes & Regulations considered an asset.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and can prioritize accordingly in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a clear focus on the delivery of excellent customer service.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with demonstrated experience building financial models and working with complex spreadsheets.
• Proficiency in other Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
