NEWS RELEASE
COLLINGWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
On Monday, Feb. 22 the Collingwood Public Library will be altering their services due to the change in COVID zoning from the provincial government.

“With the stay-at-home order lifted, the library is now able to resume some services,” says Chief Executive Officer Ken Haigh. “Essentially, this will allow us to return to the same level of service we were able to offer before Christmas while still safeguarding the health of staff and library patrons.”

Just to refresh everyone’s memory, this will allow for:

  • Two public computers on the main floor with a 15-minute use limit;
  • 10 patrons in the building at a time;
  • Patrons will be able to browse our fiction, non-fiction and children’s collections.

However, there will still be some restrictions:

  • In-person technology assistance is suspended;
  • All washrooms will remain closed;
  • Room bookings will continue to be suspended;
  • Patrons are asked to limit themselves to 30 minutes per visit, respect the two-metre distancing rule and wear masks while in the building.

For those who are not comfortable with browsing within the library, patrons can still place holds through the library’s website and collect their items from the public service counter.

Overdrive, Libby, Flipster, and the library’s app are available to browse and borrow materials. Those requiring assistance with online resources are encouraged to contact the library. We will continue to offer a wide variety of online programs for all ages, visit the library website and social media for updated information.
