The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting 30 new cases of COVID-19 across the region today.
There are two new cases listed in Collingwood today: an 18 to 34-year-old man with the source listed as community acquired, and a 65 to 79 year old woman, with the source listed as under investigation.
Eleven new cases in Barrie were posted today. Included were a male youth between 0 and 17 (close contact), two 18 to 34-year-old women, three 18 to 34-year-old men, a 45-64-year-old woman and three 45 to 64-year old men. A 45-64 year old individual whose gender was not listed is also noted with their source as close contact.
Five new cases are listed in Bradford West Gwillimbury today, including an 18-34 year old female with source listed as congregate setting outbreak. Sources of transmission are listed as under investigation in the four remaining cases in Bradford: an 18-34 year old man, a 35 to 44 year old man, a 45 to 64 year old woman and a 65 to 79 year old woman.
There are two new cases in Innisfil, of a female youth between 0 and 17 and a man between 45 and 64. Both cases are currently under investigation.
In New Tecumseth, there are four new cases today. Three woman between 18 and 34 years old are listed with sources as close contact, and one man in the same age range.
One case in Clearview Township is listed, as an 18-34 year old man through close contact. One case is listed in Essa Township, in an 18 to 34-year-old woman with source listed as under investigation. One case is listed in Oro-Medonte Township, an 18 to 34-year-old man with source listed as under investigation. One new case is also listed in Penetanguishene in a 65-79 year old man with source listed as community acquired.
There are two cases on the list today with the municipalities listed as pending. The cases include a 35 to 44 year old woman and a 45 to 64 year old man. Both sources are listed as under investigation.
One case previously assigned to Barrie and one case previously assigned to Orillia were removed from the list today as they were re-assigned to different public health units.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 2,178 COVID cases, with 2,080 of those in Simcoe County. There are 1,864 cases listed as recovered in the region. Thirteen people are currently hospitalized, all are Simcoe County residents. The health unit has confirmed 52 deaths since March.
The incidence rate for Simcoe County is 394 cases per 100,000 people.
