A new program in Grey County offers grants of up to $2,500 for new businesses facing unexpected reopening costs due to COVID-19.

The Grey County Business Enterprise Centre has launched Starter Company Plus recovery program specifically for businesses that have been in operation for one to five years and are facing costs related to physical or business model changes in order to reopen during the pandemic.

According to a news release, the Business Enterprise Centre will also offer mentorship, advice and training for new business owners on top of the grants.

"We're seeing so much resiliency in our small business community and we are excited about the opportunities," said Courtney Miller, manager for the Grey County Business Enterprise Centre. "We want to support our businesses with a program that is fast, flexible, and gives people help when and how they need it most."

The recovery grant program will run August 1 to September 30, and the application process opens tomorrow (July 1).

You can find an application online, or you can email [email protected].
