The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that starting on Tuesday, July 14, town hall will be open for public access with modified customer service hours and safety measures in place.

All council and committee meetings will continue to be hosted virtually at this time. Hours of limited public access will be Monday – Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily to assist customers that cannot access online or telephone services.

To help limit traffic into town hall, residents are reminded that online and telephone services will continue to be available. Details regarding online services can be found on the town website

Various safety measures and changes to town hall operations and pedestrian flow have been implemented to ensure both the safety of the public and staff.

A customer service kiosk will be available on the main floor to assist with minor transactional services and general inquiries. In addition, the finance department will be operating a separate counter for all financial transactions. Public access will be limited to the first floor only.

More complex and in-depth service needs, such as planning services, building services, applying for a marriage licence and the commissioning of documents, will require scheduled appointments as drop-in service will not be available.

Appointments will need to be scheduled in advance by contacting the appropriate department. Contact information is available on the town website or by calling 519-599- 3131.

In addition, physical distancing floor stickers, and directional signage have been installed to guide visitors. If you plan on visiting town hall, please continue to maintain six feet of physical distancing while on-site and wear a facemask to help ensure the safety of others.

This notice of reopening only applies to the town hall location at 32 Mill Street in Thornbury. Additional information regarding facilities being reopened will be provided in the future.
