The Town of Wasaga Beach announced today all beachfront area municipal parking lots are open again.

The lots were closed at the end of May with the exception of two lots reserved for residents only. Residents had to buy a parking pass for $28.25 plus HST to use the lots.

A press release from the town indicated the lots were closed to "discourage day trip visitors."

However, the province announced the provincial park will be reopened, including parking spots and washrooms.

"Now that the beach is open and washrooms are available, council was of the view that reopening our beachfront parking lots is appropriate," stated the release from the town.

The Spruce Street lot will remain reserved for residents with parking passes only.
