As of March 12, the province is reporting that no COVID-19 cases have yet been identified through the voluntary asymptomatic testing being done in Simcoe County schools.
According to the province’s reporting, 168 tests were completed as part of the Simcoe County District School Board’s first clinic, held on March 4 at Bradford District High School.
Over at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, 91 tests were completed at their first clinic on March 3 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School.
There have been zero positive results reported through either clinic.
Through the Simcoe County District School Board, this week’s asymptomatic testing clinic will be taking place on Thursday, Mar. 18 from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Innisdale Secondary School at 95 Little Avenue in Barrie. Students and staff from Algonquin Ridge Elementary School, Hewitt's Creek Public School, Hyde Park Public School, Mapleview Heights Elementary School and Simcoe Shores Secondary School (Barrie south location) are also eligible to attend.
Through the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, this week’s asymptomatic testing clinic will be taking place on Wednesday, Mar. 17 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School at 2 Nolan Road in Tottenham. Students from Father F.X. O’Reilly Catholic School, St. James Catholic School, Holy Family Catholic School, St. Paul’s Catholic School and Monsignor J.E. Ronan Catholic School are also eligible to attend.
