A local foundation is looking for worthy organizations and projects to receive seed money next year.
Applications are now being accepted for this year's round of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) Foundation Wellness Innovation funding, which is for projects that focus on health and wellness in South Georgian Bay.
The projects and/or programs that receive money from the fund must contribute to supporting the wellness of CGMH patients and/or residents of South Georgian Bay area.
“Thanks to Wellness Innovation Lead Donors, Barb & Larry Hall, we can find opportunities to promote a healthier, stronger community that can also alleviate our overburdened hospital,” said the hospital foundation president & CEO, Jory Pritchard-Kerr, in a news release. “An investment in the well-being of our community is an investment in our healthcare system.”
Last year, money from the fund was granted to the Pelvic Health Innovation Project, a partnership between CGMH, the Collingwood Well Baby Clinic and Collingwood Pelvic Health for a "multi-faceted" pelvic floor program.
“We have witnessed the growth of the hospital foundation and its impact on helping to foster excellence in hospital care,” stated Barb and Larry Hall, lead donors, in the news release. “And if we look beyond the hospital, we can find a growing number of health innovation initiatives right here in our own community. Together, we can inspire, challenge and foster those innovative projects and help our community thrive.”
