Army reservists heading to Meaford for training

Between Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 and Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023 Canadian Army Reserve personnel from 31 Canadian Brigade Group will be moving on major roads and highways to Meaford as part of a training exercise.

All activities will occur Sunday. Members of the public may see military vehicles on the following major highways: Highway 400 series, Highway 21, Highway 23, and Highway 26. Vehicles will consist of armoured vehicles, troop-carrying trucks, and smaller utility vehicles.

31 Canadian Brigade Group is headquartered in London and has over 1,800 members across southwestern Ontario. Most of these soldiers are army reservists, and many of them are preparing to deploy overseas on international stability operations with Canadian partners and allies in various regions.

All measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience to those travelling during the movement date. Members of the public are asked to take extra caution when approaching military vehicles. We thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation.
