Attention: This is not a drill, but it is a show (28 photos, 3 videos)

CF-18 jets, coast guards, vintage military planes. The skies over the Bay were busy this weekend.

If you looked up this weekend, you likely saw at least one out-of-place aircraft, whether that was a Search and Rescue helicopter, a twirling biplane or a CF-18 jet.

Wasaga Beach celebrated Canada's military and first responders this weekend with a new festival aptly named the Heroes Festival.

The event took place June 23 and 24 and included a family-friendly schedule of activities with an airshow each afternoon. The shows featured demonstrations by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds (on Sunday), a CF-18 Jet, a Search and Rescue tech demonstration with the Canadian Coast Guard and Trenton Search and Rescue and some fancy flying biplane pilots.

Beach Area 1 was also spotted with vendors such as local paramedics, Barrie Police, Bruce Nuclear, Fire Departments and more.

Enjoy these photos and video from the event.
