The Town of Wasaga Beach is proud to present Bedouin Soundclash as headliners for the town’s Canada Day festivities this weekend. Canada Day festivities on the beach will also include country artist, Rob Watts and Juno-nominated, Tik-Tok sensation, Devon Cole.
“We have an incredible Canada Day planned and we invite all of our residents and everyone who visits Wasaga Beach to have fun, play and swim safely, and make memories that will last a lifetime,” said Mayor Brian Smith. “Grab some snacks and drinks at one of our beachfront food trucks or restaurants, put your feet in the sand and enjoy the show.”
The fun begins on Saturday, July 1 at 10 a.m. with tethered hot air balloon rides, followed by special local presentations at 1:45 p.m., live music all afternoon and fireworks at 10 p.m.:
Canada Day schedule (Saturday, July 1):
- 10 a.m. –1 p.m. tethered hot air balloon rides, presented by ReMax
- 1:45 p.m. mayor’s welcome, land acknowledgement, national anthem (Haileigh Jade)
- 2 p.m. Kehewin Native Dance Theatre
- 2:30 p.m. Dance By Design
- 3:30 p.m. The Desoto’s
- 4:30 p.m. Ensemble Topaz (performing in area in front of stage)
- 5:30 p.m. Rob Watts Band
- 7 p.m. Devon Cole
- 8:45 p.m. Bedouin Soundclash
- 10 p.m. fireworks
This Canada Day weekend, which is expected to be a warm and sunny one in Wasaga Beach, marks the continuation of the town’s kick-off to a busy summer season. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy fireworks, food trucks, buskers, weekly beach-side movie nights, a farmers market and regular live music on the beach beginning in July.
Heading into the busy Canada Day weekend, the town is also prepared and coordinating with the OPP, Ontario Parks and other partners to ensure there is a plan in place that will keep residents and visitors safe and informed.
“The town’s fire department, municipal law enforcement officers, Simcoe County first responders, provincial park wardens and OPP detachment are working together to ensure this weekend, and this summer, continues to be safe and fun for everyone,” Smith added.
The OPP are urging residents and visitors to “get out and enjoy the Canada Day festivities, obey the law, and respect the community,” said Inspector Leah Gilfoy of the Huronia West OPP. “We are proud to be coordinating with our municipalities, other emergency services partners and the community to ensure a safe summer for all to enjoy.”
