The Bellbrae Animal Hospital has been providing veterinary services to pet owners in the South Georgian Bay region for over 35 years. This year, the busy veterinary hospital with seven veterinarians and 25 support staff has decided to join the 6th annual Friends for Life Walkathon in support of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS).
Bellbrae Animal Hospital and the Georgian Triangle Humane Society have been partners in animal welfare for over 15 years. It is estimated that the clinic has provided spay/neuter surgeries and other veterinary services to over 3500 homeless cats and dogs during that time.
“Bellbrae Animal Hospital, in tandem with our other veterinary partners, are pivotal in allowing us to do our work. They drop everything when emergencies come to our door often responding to calls after hours and on Sundays. We are so thrilled that they are joining our walk as each team will be critical in helping us to raise vitally needed funds for our programs,” states Sonya Reichel, executive director for the GTHS.
The staff at Bellbrae have put together a team of 10 people and are calling themselves the Bellbrae Bunch. Pledges towards their team are being gratefully accepted from their Facebook page.
“We have always supported the mission and vision for the GTHS and it is our pleasure to support this charity through the Walkathon. Giving back to the community has always been important to us and we are hopeful our participation will help towards the event being a success,” states Dr. Bell, owner of the Bellbrae Animal Hospital.
The GTHS Walkathon is on Sunday, Sept. 23 at the Blue Mountain Village. Registration starts at 10 a.m. with the walk starting at 11 a.m.. Participants are welcome to join with or without their dog! Registration details can be found here.
