Nearly a month after veteran Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson left the PC Caucus, he’s still unheard from.
The announcement was made by a spokesperson for Premier Doug Ford on Nov. 2. Neither Wilson nor his office has commented on his departure, or the comment from the Premier that Wilson left to seek treatment for addiction issues.
Wilson's Twitter account, typically updated daily has been silent since Nov. 2. His website, usually showing photos of Wilson attending community events or announcements hasn't been updated, except for a new banner image showing him and a photo of Queen's Park, but with the Ontario Progressive Conservative logo removed.
Wilson did not, however, resign from his job as Simcoe-Grey MPP. At his constituency office, it’s business as usual.
According to Wilson’s Collingwood office staff, they’ve been taking calls, walk-ins, and emails from constituents and helping them as they did before, by providing the same services. The office is still fully staffed and open as usual.
Office staff would not comment on Wilson’s presence at Queen’s Park or his status as an independent MPP.
