Collingwood digs out from last night's storm

Crews are working to clear roads and sidewalks in Collingwood after last night's heavy snowfall and freeze

Travel remains hazardous this morning as crews work to remove several millimetres of snow from Collingwood streets and sidewalks.

Yesterday evening and overnight temperatures dropped and snow mixed with ice pellets accumulated to several inches in some places, depending on how the wind was blowing.

Snowplows drivers are currently clearing Collingwood streets, but some of the in-town roads have not been fully cleared yet, or are half cleared.

Some in-town intersections are also covered in several inches of snow where a side street hasn't been plowed yet. Sidewalk plows are also out this morning clearing paths for pedestrians.

Main roads that have been cleared remain snow-covered and visibility is reduced by falling and blowing snow.

There are no road closures reported by the town or the provincial Ministry of Transportation.
