The National Volunteer Week flag has been raised at the Collingwood Public Library in honour of volunteers in the community.
Volunteer week runs April 18 to 24. The theme for this year is "The Value of One, the Power of Many."
According to Volunteer Canada, the theme is meant to honour not only the acts of volunteers, but the "magic" that happens when many people work toward a common purpose.
This year's theme is the same as the one adopted for the week in 2001, which was dubbed the International Year of Volunteers.
"It beautifully reflects the individual and collective efforts we have seen during the pandemic, and it sets the tone for re-imagining the next 20 years as the value of one act and the power of many enables us to thrive together," states the Volunteer Canada website.
