Collingwood Pride family zone costs covered by Optimist club

The Collingwood Optimist Club presented the Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay with $5,000 to cover the costs of the Family Zone, which will be set up at the parkette at 84 Hurontario Street at the upcoming Pride Festival.

The Collingwood Optimist Club gave out about $25,000 this weekend to various groups and initiatives in Collingwood and The Blue Mountains this weekend, including $5,000 to cover the costs of the family zone activities during Collingwood's Pride festival. 

The club donated the funds to the Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay, and John Miller accepted the money on behalf of the Rainbow Club on Saturday, June 22. Miller said the money covers all the costs of the family zone, which will be set up in the parkette at 84 Hurontario St. during the Pride Festival on July 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
