My Friend’s House is launching a progressive lottery called “Chase the Ace” to generate much needed revenue to keep My Friend’s House doors open.
Starting May 29, 2018 “Chase the Ace” tickets can be purchased at Ashanti’s Coffee, Dollar Villa and Mad Dogs Coffee & Vinyl Café in Collingwood.
When you purchase a ticket you are asked to select a number between 1 and 52. The number corresponds to a numbered envelope that contains a single card from a standard playing deck.
On draw day, if your ticket is selected you win 20 per cent of the weeks’ ticket proceeds (maximum $375) and the opportunity to see if the numbered envelope you chose contains the Ace of Spades to win the progressive jackpot.
The progressive jackpot has the potential to go over $29,000 depending on when the Ace of Spades is drawn. My Friends House will raise up to $48,000 if the last card drawn is the Ace of Spades.
My Friend’s House anticipates excitement will build as weeks go by with the Ace of Spades still to be drawn. 95.1 The Peak FM Radio Station is making it possible for the community to be part of this excitement by hosting the draw live on air every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. starting June 5.
“My Friend’s House has to raise close to $400,000 this year to ensure abused women and their children continue to receive safe refuge and support whenever they need it,” Alison FitzGerald, Executive Director and June Gonsalves, Fundraising Manager said. “The bottom line is WE’RE IT! The only service in the Georgian Triangle solely focused on keeping abused women and their children safe. We cannot do it without the financial support of the community we serve.”
Tickets are $5 each and will be sold from Tuesday to Tuesday. Ticket sale cut-off time will be Tuesdays at 12 noon at each location.
There are only 375 tickets available for sale each week, so get your tickets early and good luck!
