The local health unit and hospital have confirmed a COVID-19 outbreak in one unit at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH).

CGMH confirmed the outbreak in a news release today, stating the declaration was made in collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and it effects the medical unit at the hospital.

"All patients on the unit have been swabbed, impacted patients have been isolated, and enhanced cleaning measures have been implemented," states the news release from the hospital.

Because of the outbreak, there are visitor restrictions in place for patients in the medical unit. Patients in palliative, end-of-life care are excluded from the vistor restrictions.

CGMH also confirmed the medical unit is still open for patient admissions.
