Discover the story of abolitionist Charles Stuart and bring your own voice to share in songs of freedom and hope on Saturday, June 22, at The Gallery at LE Shore Library from 1 – 3 p.m.

Charles Stuart, made an impact across the world as an abolitionist in the 19th century. Born in Bermuda in 1781, he travelled the world with the belief that men were equal, regardless of race. 

He became a writer and focused on the abolition of slavery. His last home was in Lora Bay where he died in 1865. Learn how his one voice made a difference across the world.  

Voices together make an impact especially with the direction of musician, composer and playwright David Sereda! Through a song circle David will lead you on musical journey of freedom and hope as inspired by the abolition movement. Every voice can be lifted through song and together discover the deep traditions of music that inspire us now.

This programme is in partnership with Grace United Church in Thornbury which is having a Freedom Voices Service on Sunday June 23, 2019 at 10:30 p.m.
