The need for blood is constant. Despite that, less than four per cent of eligible donors give blood each year.

And as summer nears, the need is about to become even more urgent. Sadly, during the summer months, the number of accidents rises while attendance at clinics decline as people head off on vacations.

You can help improve a person's odds for survival by donating blood.

And as you think about that, consider this fact: There’s a 50 per cent chance you or someone you know will need blood at some point in their life.

Right now, somewhere in Canada, someone needs a blood transfusion to survive. You have the power to give them life

The next local blood clinic takes place in Stayner at Clearview Community Church (1070 County Rd. 42, Stayner) on June 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Making an appointment to donate has never been easier. Visit blood.ca, download our GiveBlood app or call 1-888-2-DONATE and find a nearby donation site. Walk-in appointments are also available at all locations.

Thank you for your generous support, as always!
