Residents and businesses on the west end of Collingwood were temporarily without power this afternoon due to a downed wire.

According to Collingwood's Deputy Fire Chief Dan Thurman, fire crews responded to the scene - at First Street extension and Old Mountain Road where Epcor crews were working on wires in the area.

Thurman said one wire came down and caused the power to go out in the area. Power has since been restored. The outage lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Police, fire, ambulance, and Epcor crews were on scene.
