Five Collingwood Clippers raced at provincial championships

The Collingwood Clippers made waves at the 2025 Winter Ontario Swimming Championships held at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre and Markham Pan Am Centre with five outstanding athletes competing.  

The Clippers, one of the largest swim clubs north of Toronto, continues to demonstrate strength and growth with their young swimmers.

After sending more than 50 athletes to regional championships, the team’s latest success at the provincial level highlights the program’s dedication to developing top-tier talent.  

To qualify for the event, swimmers must meet provincial qualifying time standards, making participation a significant achievement.

The following Clippers athletes proudly represented their club:  

Liam Paterson (15): A standout performer Liam secured a gold medal in the 100 Butterfly along with two fourth-place finishes in the 50m and 100m Freestyle. He also competed in the 200m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke, and 200 IM, breaking three club records in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 100 Fly. Liam’s incredible performances now rank him 6th in Canada for 50 Free, 4th for 100 Free, and 1st in Canada for 100 Fly in his age group.  

Niall Crespy (11): Showcasing exceptional backstroke skills, Niall claimed bronze in the 100m Backstroke and silver in the 200m Backstroke, alongside strong performances in the 200m Free (6th), 400m Free (7th), 200IM, and 400IM. Niall’s times now place him 6th in Canada for 100 Back and 4th for 200 Back in his age group.  

Mila Bandrowski (15) competed in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke putting in strong performances in a very competitive field.

Reid Colekessian (12) showcased her talent in the 50m Free, 100m Back, and 200m Back.

Hayden Scott (13) competed in the 100m Back,  100m Breast, and 200m Breast, delivering solid swims and valuable experience on the provincial stage.  

Under the guidance of Head Coach Rebecca Ryerson and Club President Naomi Paterson, the Collingwood Clippers continue to build a culture of excellence. The team’s success at provincials further cements its reputation as a developing powerhouse in Ontario  swimming.
