Girls hockey team takes silver in Oakville tournament

Georgian Shores Lightning sent three teams to Oakville for a tournament last weekend.

Two of three Georgian Shores Lightning senior girls hockey teams brought home wins from an Oakville tournament last weekend.

The Bantam, and two Peewee teams attended the Oakville Hornets ‘Survive the Hive’ tournament.

The Bantam team took the consolation placement after a 2-0 game against the Kincardine Kinucks.

The Peewee Blue team made it to the Gold Semis winning four straight games including three shut-outs and only one goal against. They lost to the Grand River Mustangs 2-1 in the Gold Semis. Peewee White team won in the Silver Semis 3-2 over Toronto Leaside Wildcats with a three-on-three overtime and a shootout. The white team went to overtime in the silver finals, tied after a three-on-three, a five-player shootout and finally a sudden victory shootout, winning 4-3 over the Ancaster Avalanche.
