Both the Grey Bruce Health Unit and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit will be hosting pop-up and walk-in vaccine clinics in the area this week.
Anyone who was born in 2009 or earlier is eligible for two doses (21 to 28 days apart) of a mRNA vaccine. You can get a vaccine at these clinics without an appointment and while supplies last.
Both health units recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing and being prepared to wait in line outdoors. You'll need your health card to get a vaccine.
Walk-ins are welcome at the health unit vaccination clinic at 29 Sperling Drive in Barrie. You can find more vaccination options from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on its website here.
Health unit staff may also be providing vaccines in the community at beaches, parks, farmer’s markets, sports complexes and outdoor retail areas, making it easier than ever to get vaccinated. Whether at a clinic or out in the community, SMDHU staff providing vaccinations will be wearing blue COVID-19 Vaccine t-shirts and their SMDHU employee badge for identification.
Several Collingwood pharmacies have been offering COVID-19 vaccines, including Stuart Ellis Pharmacy, Loblaw, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, Metro, and Wal-Mart. For more information about contacting and booking an appointment for a vaccine at a pharmacy near you, visit the Ontario.ca website here.
