The Town of Collingwood and the downtown business improvement area will again host several activities on Canada Day for guests and residents beginning with a pancake breakfast.
The day will also include live entertainment downtown and the traditional citizenship reaffirmation ceremony and giant cake outside of the federal building.
Fireworks will not be part of this year's celebrations as the town didn't receive any bids for the show this year. A drone light display originally planned for March 18's "Future is Bright" festival and paid for with a grant given to the BIA was cancelled because of high winds. It's been postponed to Sidelaunch Days in August as the vendor wasn't available for a show on Canada Day.
Backyard fireworks are permitted on Canada Day from dusk to 11 p.m.
