Collingwood’s downtown Christmas tree has arrived.
The 25-foot-er is standing on the north corner of the federal building property where it awaits decoration.
The tree came from the Agnora property where it had outgrown its place on the lot. They donated the tree.
Sue Nicholson, general manager for the Collingwood Downtown BIA said the tree was free and the town’s public works department contracted a firm to assist with taking it down and transporting it to its Christmas home.
“Downtown Collingwood is more than grateful for their support,” said Nicholson.
The tree was delivered today, and the lights will be adorning the branches by Thursday. You’ll have to wait until the end of the Santa Claus parade when the 4,000 lights will be turned on to officially welcome the Christmas season.
The Santa Claus parade begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. This year's theme is "The Lights of Christmas." The parade route follows Hurontario Street from Hume to First Street.
