Two psychic mediums have sold out all their shows so far in Collingwood, with more on the way.
Barbara Quinton and Trish Finch will be hosting their 2 Mediums. 1 Night event on March 28 at 7 p.m. at Black Bellow Brewing Company in Collingwood.
The Innisfil duo have enjoyed three sold-out live audience medium readings in town so far, and have plans to run monthly shows moving forward to meet the demand. They also perform in Alliston and Barrie, and started recently doing shows outside of Simcoe County.
“Collingwood was our first,” said Quinton in an interview. “It’s literally one of our favourite places. It’s a hot spot. People are interested.”
Quinton runs Red Fern Events, and post-COVID she started organizing psychic and wellness fairs. Finch reached out as a reader at one of the fairs.
“We connected from there,” said Quinton.
While Finch has been a medium since she was a kid, Quinton has developed her skill since 2013.
“Everyone has the ability to be psychic. It’s just your intuition,” she said. “It’s tapping into the energy that’s always around us.”
She was drawn into mediumship following a difficult time in her life when she sought counselling. She started developing an interest in crystals, smudging and energy. Upon being read herself, a medium told Quinton she was a healer.
“I thought it was cool. I grew up in as strong Christian home and everything I was learning, I had been told to not touch it,” she said. “I always found it very intriguing.”
Quinton took classes in Barrie, Newmarket the U.K. and the U.S. to hone her new-found skill. She teaches and does readings online now in addition to doing the shows. Quinton doesn’t organize health and wellness fairs anymore citing “over-saturation” of the sector, and now focuses on medium events and teaching intuitive workshops across Simcoe County. The next workshop is on April 6 in Innisfil.
At their shows, Quinton and Finch do eight to 10 minute readings per person, to try to do readings for as many attendees as possible.
“We do this to be a bridge between the spirit world and people who have lost their loved ones,” she said. “It’s very emotional. It is deep and can be healing for people.”
“It’s less woo woo, and more healing,” said Quinton, with a laugh. “Have an open mind, and an open heart.”
Tickets are available online here for $50 per person and must be purchased in advance due to limited seating.
