Yesterday, Katie Pereira, her boyfriend Zack Prebble, and her mom Tammy Pereira delivered a cheque to the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) to purchase a cooling cot for the Obstetrics department.

Katie Pereira gave birth to a stillborn son named Lincoln in September this year. The experience motivated her to raise money in his honour for a cooling cot to allow other families more time to say goodbye to their stillborn babies. She and Zack together with their families have been working to raise funds through online auctions to be donated to the hospital.

On Jan. 3, the three brought in a cheque for $3,700 to cover the cost of the cooling cot, also known as a Cuddle Cot. Dr. Gillian Yeates, the Chief of Obstetrics for CGMH and Aimee Stinson, manager of Obstetrics, received the donation.

According to Jory Pritchard-Kerr, the executive director of the hospital foundation, the purchase is now underway, but there's no word yet on when it will arrive at the CGMH.
