Local mathletes win Olympic gold

Jean Vanier Catholic High School sent eight Grade 9 math students to the Math Olympics last week in Barrie.

Grade 9 students from Jean Vanier Catholic School had a winning formula at the Math Olympics last week in Barrie. 

Jean Vanier sent two teams (eight students in total) to the event, which featured more than 60 student participants. 

The yellow team including Colin Pierce, Gabe King, Alivia Ladly, and Emily Lawrence won the competition and took home a gold medal for it. Alivia Ladly won the KenKen competition, and Colin Pierce and Gabe king won the individual event sponsored by Desmos.
