Locals tackle Bruce Trail section-by-section

After accomplishing the first goal of travelling the Beaver Valley section, the trio was inspired to set more goals for woodsy wandering

Three area residents have been earning their hiking badges this summer thanks to a new puppy.

Jennifer Hurst, of Collingwood, and Andrée and Ikon Lovell, of Ravenna, set a goal to walk the whole Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail this spring and summer. After accomplishing this, they were inspired to do more and also traversed The Blue Mountains section this fall. They've moved on to the portions of the trail in the Dufferin area.

"We were blown away with the beauty of the forests, waterfalls, views, fields and seasons," said Andrée Lovell in an email to Collingwood Today. "We are truly blessed to have such an awesome resource."

They give credit to the Bruce Trail Conservancy and the work of the volunteer clubs toward the management and maintenance of the Bruce Trail.
