Music foundation supports pipe and drum band with donation

The South Georgian Bay Music Foundation extended support to the music of the highlands with a cheque for $500 presented to the Bienn Gorm Highlanders. 

The pipe and drum band played a concert at New Life Church on Nov. 2, where Charlie Gudaitis presented the donation. 

The Bienn Gorm Highlanders are a community Scottish Highland pipes and drums band with members as young as 7-years-old. They have offered free bagpipe and drum lessons to the community for the last 20 years. 

The band will be heading to Scotland in August for the World Pipe Championships. You can catch them locally at events such as Canada Day, Remembrance Day and at the Santa Claus parade. For information on upcoming performances, visit their Facebook page.
