There's a COVID-19 outbreak at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in the medical unit.
The outbreak was declared on Jan. 1, 2025 by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit in collaboration with the hospital.
"All patients on the unit have been swabbed, impacted patients have been isolated, and enhanced cleaning measures have been implemented," states a news release from the hospital.
"Visitor restrictions are in place for the medical unit, except in the case of palliative end of life patients and essential caregivers, which have been approved by the department manager or resource nurse."
The medical unit is still open for new patient admissions.
