New playground structures installed at Eugenia park

Slides, swings, and a rock climbing wall are ready for play

There's a new playground in town.

The Municipality of Grey Highlands announced completion of the work to install playground equipment at a park in Eugenia on Dec. 6 after the previous structures were torn down this year.

With an official grand opening slated for sometime next year, there may still be some snow-free weather in the forecast for families to enjoy the new playground.

There are four slides, swings for adults, children and infants, a climbing wall and more. Council approved spending up to $40,000 from the municipal reserves for the project.

“We’re thrilled to see the new playground completed. The families of Eugenia have waited a long time for this beautiful play area that is a great addition to the community and will be enjoyed by generations to come” said Michele Harris, director of economic and community development, in a news release.

Grand opening event details will be released later.
