Collingwood's downtown merchants are preparing for trick-or-treaters to visit during the annual Black Harvest Festival coming up on Oct. 26.

The Halloween tradition offers a family-friendly day that encourages costumes and crowds.

Between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, kids are invited to trick-or-treat (with their parents) at all the businesses with a sign in their window indicating there are treats inside

There will also be balloon twisters at the parkette across from town hall.

There will be costume contests split into different age groups from babes in arms to age 12, and a prize for the best family group costume.

New this year is a prize for best pet costume donated by Bone and Biscuit.
