Collingwood is giving generously this year and last according to Canada's largest online donation platform, CanadaHelps.

The organization ranks Canadian cities and towns annually based on the percentage of the population (donors per capita) that donates via CanadaHelps, and Collingwood is again second in the country with Centre Wellington taking first.

According to this year's information from CanadaHelps, about 5.6 per cent of Colingwood residents donated money through CanadaHelps this year to various charities that use the online service to collect donations and for fundraising.

About 6.27 per cent of Centre Wellington residents donated in 2024.

The remaining top ten include:

  • Fort Erie, Ontario (5.27% of residents have donated, moving up from 4th place in 2023).
  • North Vancouver, British Columbia (4.62% of residents have donated, moving up from 6th place in 2023).
  • Victoria, British Columbia (4.58% of residents donated, moving up from 7th place in 2023).

I am so proud to be a Collingwood resident and even more proud to be mayor of this generous community.”
