The Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are hosting criminal record checks that will be completed while applicants wait.
The event will take place when the detachment office is not normally open to make it easier for people who are at work during normal office hours and open to any resident of The Blue Mountains.

Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
If a vulnerable sector check is required, which would include anyone working with children or the elderly, applicants must bring the letter from the organization requesting that check.
Checks for employment purposes will cost $25 in cash (exact amount).
Two pieces of identification must be provided at the time of application (one must be photo identification). Copies of identification will not be accepted.
Acceptable forms of photo identification include Ontario photo ID (issued by the MTO), passports, LCBO Bring Your Identification cards, military employment cards, Canadian citizenship cards, First Nations status cards, permanent resident cards, Canadian National Institute for the Blind cards, firearms possession and acquisition licences, Nexus cards and Fast Pass cards.
Acceptable non-photo identification includes birth certificates, baptismal certificates, hunting licences, outdoors cards, Canadian blood donor cards and immigration papers.
Ontario health cards and social insurance number cards are not permitted to be used as identification due to legislative restrictions.
Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP completed 1,500 criminal record checks in 2017 and 1,137 between January and August of this year.
