A message on the town's website and social media channels is warning residents about a parking ticket text message scam that's being sent to residents.
Official communication from the town regarding parking infractions will only ever be sent via mail and will never come via text messages, warns the town's message.
Anyone who receives a text message claiming to be from the town about a parking ticket should not respond to it. Don't click any links or provide personal information as the message is from a scammer.
"Stay vigilant and help us spread the word," urges the communication from the town.
