PHOTO GALLERY: Hundreds of Collingwood residents mark Remembrance Day at cenotaph

This was the first public cenotaph service in Collingwood since Nov. 11, 2019

A crowd of hundreds filled the museum grounds at Collingwood's cenotaph this morning for a Remembrance Day service hosted by Branch 63 Collingwood Legion.

Reverend Brian Goodings opened the service welcoming everyone back, as last year there was no public service.

Don Doner played the Last Post and the Rouse on his Trumpet and Sheila Stewart piped the Piper's Lament. The music played before and after a moment of silence and as the flag was raised again.

Wreaths were laid by Silver Cross Lady Ruby Klinck, MP Terry Dowdall, MPP Jim Wilson, representatives of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Military Police, Rainbow Veterans of Canada, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 and the Ladies Auxiliary, Mayor Brian Saunderson and Deputy Mayor Keith Hull, Clearview Township councillor Phyllis Dineen, the local OPP, and Collingwood Fire Department.

Here are some photos from the 2021 Collingwood Remembrance Day Ceremony.
