Snow Squall Warning in effect for:
- Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
Snow squalls today and tonight.
Hazards: Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations of 30 to 50 cm. Additional snowfall accumulations possible Friday. Peak snowfall rates of 3 to 6 cm per hour. Strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 70 km/h today. Very poor to nil visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Timing: Today and tonight.
Discussion: Snow squalls from Georgian Bay will affect the region today through tonight. The highest snowfall amounts may occur in the Collingwood to Meaford areas. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Road closures are possible.
