Customers of the Collingwood Staples store have contributed $10,009 toward a campaign that will help provide school supplies to elementary schools in the area.

The Staples Smart to Start program collected donations from July to September. The money collected was given to the South Georgian Bay Kiwanis Club for the back to school program in the form of Staples gift cards. The Kiwanis club will distribute the gift cars to elementary teachers in the region.

The Collingwood Staples customer donated the ninth highest amount for the Smart to Start campaign of all 111 Staples stores in Ontario.

Staples Collingwood manager Chris Legge presented the gift cards to Kiwanis members President Warren Haist and President-Elect Caroline Zuk today (Oct. 14).
