A sign points the way to a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic set up by the Georgian Bay Family Health Team with support from Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit in Wasaga Beach.

There are four area clinics offering walk-in availability for first and second dose COVID-19 vaccines in the South Georgian Bay area this week.

Tomorrow (Aug. 11)  and Friday, Aug. 13 the Wasaga Beach clinic at the RecPLex is accepting walk-ins from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 14, there's a pop-up clinic at the Stayner Arena offering vaccines without an appointment between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Aug. 15, the drive-thru clinic at the Collingwood Royal Canadian Legion is accepting walk-ins (or drive-ins) from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

To qualify for a walk-in spot, you must be 12 years of age or older and a resident of Simcoe-Muskoka region. The clinics will have mRNA vaccines (Moderna and/or Pfizer), which must be given at least 28 days apart.

Walk-ins will be accepted while supplies last, and the health unit will update its walk-in schedule when the clinics are full. You can check the schedule here.

The health unit is reminding people to dress for the weather as they may be required to wait outdoors.

You will need your health card for your walk-in or pre-scheduled appointment. For more on local vaccine clinics, click here.
