Two wins, two to go for Collingwood Blues in finals

The Collingwood Junior 'A' Blues are one win closer to the Buckland Cup, now chasing two more to win the championship series. 

The Blues were away for game two of the best-of-seven series last night, playing the Trenton Golden Hawks on their home ice. 

First period went scoreless and Marcus Lougheed put the first goal on the board unassisted less than five minutes into the second period. Trenton answered with a powerplay goal. Collingwood came back with two more goals also on powerplays. The other second period goals were scored by Luke Tchor, with assistance by Robert Strachan and Cam Garvey, and by Spencer Young assisted by Carter Diceman. 

In the third, Collingwood kept the powerplay goals going with the first from Ayden Dooley, assisted by Cartder Diceman and Dylan Hudon, and by Cam Garvey, unassisted. 

In net for Collingwood was Noah Pak, who saved 29 shots.

The final score was 5-1 for the Blues  

The Blues play at home on April 24 at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena at 7 p.m. for game three of the championship series. 

The winners of the series will take home the Buckland Cup and be the OJHL representatives for the 2023 Centennial Cup in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba from May 11 to 21.
