Ninety-six Beer Store locations will be open across Ontario on Sept. 2, the company says.

Many Beer Store employees will be marking Labour Day at work.

The company announced 96 of its locations are opening across Ontario Sept. 2 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Locally, that includes venues in Alliston (161 Young St.), Barrie (30 Anne St. S., 531 Bayfield St., 71 Mapleview Dr. and 640 Yonge St.), Bradford (452 Holland St. W.), Collingwood (415 First St.), Keswick (443 The Queensway S.), Midland (9350 Hwy. 93), Newmarket (1100 Davis Dr.), Orillia (275 Atherly Rd.) and Stroud (7947 Yonge St.).

Dozens of its stores also offer Skip The Dishes, Instacart and Uber Eats delivery options, the company says.

“Our commitment is to better service Ontarians with more value, cold beer, and more convenience with online shopping,” the company said in a media release.

The Beer Store is the largest suds retailer in Ontario, employing 6,500 people and offering 1,107 brands in 2023.

However, it's going to face some stiff competition beginning Sept. 5, when eligible convenience stores become permitted to sell beer, cider, wine and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages.
